Alone on that Bridge…A simple Act of Kindness

On that bridge…

On that bridge he stood all alone, with two thoughts juggling in his mind, one of an infinite unknown and other of pain and being devoured. ‘Should I’ or ‘should I not’ was all he could think, and then he chose the path to the unknown.

He was the man they said, the man with humour, the man for the people and a great entrepreneur, but on that bridge he stood wishing there was someone to clasp his hands.

Don’t we walk across scores of people everyday who come around our life in one way or the other, and some of whom might be standing on the bridge all alone, thinking is there someone to hold my hands. Yes, there is a whole crowd ready to shake hands, shake hands with their equals, but is there some ready to stretch their hands to the falling and the failing.

Two things I learn, first that, each one needs a confidant. A confidant who will walk with us, hold us, with whom we can share our every care. Confidant is a solid rock on which you can hold in times of trouble. No matter how large the ship is but every ship needs an anchor.

There are three kinds of people you will come across.

One is the confidants. Confidants are the people who love you and they are with you in your ups and downs. They are there for the long haul. You can open up and share anything with them. You don’t make a progression until you find your confidant. Having a good confidant is the key that unlocks the potential that you carry. They will confront you, they might get on your face and challenge you because they are your confidants. They are your enhancers, they find joy in everything you do.

The second group are your constituents. They are not into you they are into what you are for. As long as they are for what you are for they will walk with you and work with you and labor with you. But they are not for you. The moment they find someone else to further their agenda they will leave you and hook up with them. Because they were never for you but for what you were for. They are your constituents. And throughout your life if you are not careful, particularly when you are broken you will mistake your constituents to be your confidants and you will think they are for you while they were never for you.

The third people are your comrades. These people are not for you nor are they for what you are for. It is just that they are against what you are against. They can find strange bed fellows, they will team up with you to fight a greater enemy. Don’t be confused with their association because they will only be with you till their victory is accomplished. These people are like scaffolding. Once their purpose is accomplished the scaffolding is removed.

The second thing I learn is let my hands stretch for someone in need today. You might be their last resort before they walk over to that bridge. Share, care, talk, help – be a blessing. A simple act of caring creates an endless ripple.

Disciple the Nation and The Modern Church

Therefore Go and Make Disciples of ‘All Nations’ Mathew 28:19

If you look closely you will find a similarity what goes on in a nation is a reflection of what happens within the church. The saying goes like this “If the church does not disciple a nation, the nation will disciple the Church”.

The new trends we are noticing in the world today are something very similar to the modern church.

Disunity, splits, separation needs no explanation, pseudo alliance and unity as seen in the political realm – very much common in the modern church. Rising spirit of nationalism – inward looking churches and organizations, everything is based on ‘Me…Mine and my Church’. Self-focused and individualism is on a rise so as well within the churches focusing and holding self aspirations rather than standing as a body of Christ.

National Leaders with Charisma and articulate words focusing on mass followers and getting their way out, individual preachers and Pastors trying to hold people through a personal charisma and talk rather than through the spirit of Christ.

Culture of self promotions, self advertising of National, spiritual, secular, corporate cults is a trend also common in the modern church. Accumulating wealth through any means and using it for their own needs and requirement is it something strange to the modern church ?

Eliminating the opponent, spreading false propaganda, corruption, fashion and latest trends, show off of styles and wealth, unholiness of the society have well crept into the modern church. The Church of Jesus Christ should reflect what it is in heaven. The Lord’s prayer says, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”. Bringing heavens principles on earth should be the character of the church. The Church should represent heaven.

When issues of national concerns happen, the Church is unable to speak because it itself is plagued with the same issues internally. Local churches represent the single most important community-based institution for social and cultural transformation in any nation.”

Let us pray that we as Individuals and our Churches would strive to display heaven in our nations. Let our Churches be catalyst of Nations Transformation. Let us go stronger in Love, Faith and Hope.

Self Promotion or God Promotion

Be fit for your work, and you will never be out of it. Do not run about inviting yourselves to preach here and there; be more concerned about your ability than your opportunity, and more earnest about your walk with God than about either. (Quote from the book Lectures to my students by Charles Spurgeon)

Years before the age of Social Media and Flyers and Television broadcast Charles Spurgeon said these words to his students which are more relevant today than ever before.

Social media promotion of ones spiritual gifts and talent, flyers and huge sign board with images of men and women, preachers & worship leaders advertised like those of big corporate, telecom or automobile companies or actors and actresses of some newly releasing movies or leaders of political parties sometimes seems slightly odd to me.  Now everything goes live on facebook, house fellowships and Bible study groups have become social media events.

We all love to be praised and celebrated. We want a name for ourselves. We crave a platform of respect. We desire to be important to other people. We want our work to be appreciated. In some shape or form, this is true for all of us — perhaps especially for pastors and Christian leaders.

I have been personally lured into this temptation of Self Promotion. “ Promote Yourself….let people know you….” rang the voice in my ears. Until the spirit of God whispered to me that” Promotions Come form the Lord. Don’t look for coverage but rather be calm and do the work with all diligence and humility, coverage would eventually come on its own, without my efforts.”

Its easy to Justify self promotion but that’s not Gods pattern.  I quote Bill Johnson, “What ever you gain through self promotion you have to sustain it through self promotion. When promotion comes from God, He sustains it.”

This kind of self-promotion seemed out of place for servants of Jesus Christ who every time turned down opportunities of self-promotion. (Matt. 9:30 (see that no one sees it); 12:16(not to make him known); Mark 1:43-44( go your way and say nothing to anyone); Luke 4:35, 41 ( He did not allow the demons to testify of him)

Philippians 2:7-9 mentions the secret of Jesus become great- v.7 He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. v. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross. v.9 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name above all names…

The key to Jesus’s greatness was his humbleness and obedience towards God. The greatness of Jesus was all about his simplicity.

Scripture points us, not to self-promote, but to be quiet, diligent, being faithful and the use our God-given skills for the good of others. In due time, as the fruit ripens, God may choose to inform others of your work and provide greater opportunity for leadership and influence. But until then, we are to labor patiently, not for eye-service, but for the sake of Christ and the good of others.

It can be easy to forget that we pastors are not salesmen. We’re not pushing a product called “the gospel.” We can’t develop an elevator pitch clever and concise enough to secure the sale. The oddity comes when we do create products that we then market and push — for worship pastors, our albums, and preaching pastors, our books. In that moment, we inch our way to becoming salespeople. And if we’re going to be good salespeople, then we need a marketing strategy and a platform, lots of followers, etc. (Joseph Tenny – Desiring God)

Do concern yourself with Promotion, Popularity or Public Acceptance

There was David in the wilderness carrying a mantle but tending his fathers sheep. His family did not recognize him, but God did. In the appointed time the Promotion came looking for him.

Saul went to look for a lost donkey ended by being anointed as the first king of Israel.

Joseph was in a prison when promotion came looking for him, Peter was fishing and Ruth, poor and lost trying to meet ends meet God came looking for them. Be faithful in small things and God will come looking for you. Focus on what you are doing with a spirit of excellence and God will bring you out in due time. (1Peter 5:6)

The scripture says, do not do anything out of selfish ambition..self promotions is designed to gain exposure and outcomes more quickly and most of the times gets blended with dishonesty (exaggeration).

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lastly let us not forget we the servants of the Lord are merely Pointers or milestones by the road…showing people the direction to reach Christ.

The Information – Misinformation Crossroad

Post Truth” was the word that Oxford Dictionary announced as it International Word of the Year for 2016. Post Trust is defined or denotes circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeal to emotions and personal beliefs. “Surreal” was the word Merriam-Webster chose as their word for the year 2016. Surreal refers to something marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream.
We are in an era of surreal and Post Truth. We are repeatedly strafed with news and messages which are “half-truth” or “no truth”. We live in the Information Age, but with surreal and post-trust as a reality of the day, we also live in an age of misinformation or alternate facts.

Colleen Seifert at the University of Michigan in a Paper, ‘Continued Influence of Misinformation in Memory’ noted that there is a continued influence effect, where misinformation continues to influence judgement even after misinformation has been corrected.

That makes us stand on a busy cross road of Information and Misinformation. A leading newspaper recently carried a cartoon captioned “Facts Don’t Matter” where it depicts, I’m sorry, Jeannie, your answer was correct, but Kevin shouted his incorrect answers over yours, so he gets the point, says the quiz master to the participants. Propagandist speak in such a way that the targeted people believe and accept and pass on misinformation as Information, because they are convinced that that receiver can be persuaded and manipulated. Lies sauteed with emotional appeal are told in a convincing way are treated as truth, win the hearts of the weak and result in public opinion.
In Hebrews chapter 6, The Bible speaks about moving on to maturity. The stage of childhood, the stage of adolescence and to be cross into move into the age of maturity. Moving to maturity is essential for grownups, because they are no longer babies on liquid diet but be able to dissect information from misinformation, deceit, disinformation, falsehood from truth.
In the information age coupled with the influx of the social media as an essential element of our daily life, with facebook, twitter, whatsapp and other networking and communication applications, do we become culprits of passing rumor, gossips, bearing false witness and also being manipulated by misinformation.

What does the Bible say about it?

A rumor or gossip is an unconfirmed, widely spread story or statement. It may or may not contain elements of truth, but carry no factual certainty.

Bible warns against spreading rumors and those who engage in gossip. Proverbs 20:19 says, “A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.” Words are powerful. They can build up or destroy. James 3:2–12 instructs us to control our words. God desires that we use our words to praise Him, to speak wisdom and to encourage and edify each other.

The Bible often includes gossip in lists of specific evils Spreading rumors is so repulsive in the Lord’s sight that He made a prohibition against it in the Law He gave to the Israelites. Proverbs 6:16-19 says, “There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”
1st Timothy 5:13 sternly warns against using idle time to spread slander. And Proverbs 17:4 implies that those who eagerly listen to gossip have low character.
When the Bible says about speaking it also includes the communication of the digital age.

According to Proverbs 26:22 “The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.” There is a delicious thrill in hearing scandalous information about someone we know or wish we knew.

Have we ever heard of rumors of someone’s success, honour and achievements, or things that are positive and truthful in nature. As humans, we tend to enjoy the mere thrill of passing information and many times try to be the first one to do so. We get excited to become the centre of somebody’s attention. The sheer thrill, the overactive approach, novelty, high-sensation seeking tendency, experience seeking sensation, dis-inhibition and boredom makes us both victims and culprits of misinformation. Our sinful natures enjoy possessing a juicy morsel of information that would gain us attention in the telling. But when we are willing to recognize the selfishness of that desire, we can repent of it and dedicate our mouths to the glory of God

In Christian circles, prayer chain and prayer groups become victims and culprits of misinformation and Post truth.” Recently at a morning prayer gathering one lady brought an emotional running into tears prayer request to the congregation about a school bus accident in the city that morning in which several children passed on, the congregation prayed for the bereaved parents and kids who had survived. Later this news was found to be hoax. On being asked, the lady said, she just heard about it from someone else.

Prayer chains are ways that local churches inform other members of prayer needs within that body. They can be useful if the information shared is general knowledge and those informed will truly pray. However, many times prayer chains become excuses for speculation and misinformation as the story grows with each telling. A prayer chain can become a real-life example of the party game ‘telephone’ with the last person on the prayer chain receiving information that bears little resemblance to the original request. When this happens, it is nothing more than spreading rumors and can be destructive to individuals and churches.

Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.” We cannot stop all rumors, but we can refuse to participate in them. We can break the “telephone” chain and refuse to pass it on. When we hear slanderous news, we should go to the source and check it out. If we are not part of the solution, and the person we are telling is not part of the solution, then the news is not ours to propagate. Next time you speak, or pick your phone or use your computer to share, forward a news or an information, ask yourself, is it really important? is it true ? If not, then I don’t have be a party to misinformation?

Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani

Mat 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

This is a very familiar verse specially read during the remembrance of the crucifixion. Good Friday and Easter is the resemblance of the Passover which was observed by the People of Israel.

The people of Israel were under severe bondage and trial in Egypt, God heard their prayer and delivered them through the man named Moses. The blood of atonement upon the door brings salvation as the death angel passes overhead. It is the eve of the Passover. The Exodus that follows sees God’s covenant people delivered from the bondage of Egypt. This was the Old Covenant fulfillment of Passover for salvation of mankind.

Again on the 14th day of Nisan, on the eve of Passover, Jesus is crucified. The blood of the promised Sacrifice Lamb is shed. This is the redemption God has provided. It brings salvation to His covenant people, delivering them from the bondage of sin and death.

This is the New Covenant fulfillment of Passover for human salvation.

What Jesus says the verse in Mathew 27:46, King David before hundreds of years had prophetically written about the crucifixion of the Messiah and the suffering he was bound to face in Psalm 22:1. And the same verse My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

Isaiah tells us that “he bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; that he was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities; that the chastisement of our peace was laid upon him; that by his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5).

Jesus was made the Passover Lamb for as the sin-offering, and He died in our place, on our account, that He might bring us near to God. It was this, doubtless, which caused His intense sufferings. It was the manifestation of God’s hatred of sin, in some way which He has not explained, that Jesus experienced in that terrible hour. It was suffering endured by Him that was due to us, and suffering by which, and by which alone, we can be saved from eternal death.

In those awful moments, Jesus was expressing His feelings of abandonment as God placed the sins of the world on Him – and because of that had to “turn away” from Jesus. As Jesus was feeling that weight of sin, He was experiencing separation from God for the only time in all of eternity.” Jesus became sin for us, so He felt the loneliness and abandonment that sin always produces, except that in His case, it was not His sin – it was ours.

The reason we can be excited is that the death of Christ was not a disaster but it lead to victory. He forever defeated Satan, Sin and Death. And therefore we have victory over the works of the enemy, over Sin and Death.

In Psalm 22:27 David prophetically says that in the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. What a joy it would be to see the fulfillment of this prophetical word, where in the end days the Nations will Worship the Lord and bow down before the throne of Grace, For the kingdom is the Lords and he rules over the nations.

but the greatest of these is LOVE

In Mathew Chapter 22, a Pharisees or Sadducees tries to test and trap Jesus with a question of which is the greatest commandment. Probably expecting an exposition on the Law of Moses or of the Ten Commandments, to their astonishment Jesus wraps the answer into a sentences, “the great commandment is to love God and to love your neighbors”

The Pharisees and Sadducees were people who respected the letter of the Law and they were very particular that they would not break any of them. Their obedience to the letter of the law at most times affected the spirit of the law. This in other words is what we call as legalism. There is no love and human touch in legalism and legalistic judgement. Here the Pharisees or Sadducees may I call them the legal experts had forgotten the very idea that God is a God of love. Love in proper is the image of God; for God is love. The essence of the scripture was missed to human interpretations. The Jewish reverence to the God became a ritual than an attitude to worship

In 1 Corinthians chapter 13, Apostle Paul expounds on the commandment of Love.

Paul here begins with comparing Love with the spiritual gifts and says that if I have all the spiritual gifts and have no love then I am like an empty vessel making noise. (Empty vessels makes more noise) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass.

Especially with the charismatic movement emphasis has been given to attain more spiritual gift and abilities. We seek for more anointing, we seek for more Prophecy, we seeks for more emotional satisfaction, we want to dwell on the externals.  Sadly emotions have taken over the entire movement. Faith is not Emotions. Christianity is not Emotions.

Though I have gift of prophecy, and understanding all mysteries and all knowledge and though I have all the faith, so that I could remove mountains, but I have no love, I am nothing.

Though I do all charity but I have no love, I profit nothing.  Everything in Christian Faith begins with LOVE. (Gal 5:6, 14) We have all spiritual talents, we have all the wealth, we have everything that we require and we can think of, but is love missing from our midst, from our families, from our Churches and congregations? We have knowledge of everything in the world but we are not aware of the parents sitting on the same pew in our church who cannot afford to send their kids to school.

“Revelation 2:2-4, I know your work, your labour, your patience, your perseverance…Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.”

The basic elements of Love

Love is patient, love is kind. This is the kind of love with which God loves us, he is patient and kind with us, he bears all our tantrums, misdoings and forgives us all our sins. He wants us to love him and love our neighbors with the same kind of love, bearing and forgiving one another.

Usually when we hear about the word neighbors, we have a question who is our neighbor? I would say neighbor is not necessarily the one who lives next doors. Neighbor is someone who stays around, sits next to you in the bus or a cab, or in the cubicle next to you at your work place, the person who is part of your congregation, they could be those scores of men and women we meet everyday. Love them as God loves you.

Love does not envy, it is not jealous of your neighbour’s achievements; it does not back bite or spread rumors and stories or gossip. Love does not boast. Loves makes you consider others better than the yourself. True Loves compels you not to discriminate or look down on others; for love does not parade itself or is puffed up.

All our gifting and abilities, strengths and achievements will fail one day but love stand still through eternity. His love gives me the FAITH and HOPE.

The foundational pillar of Christian Life is not in our external or emotional as many have interpreted it in recent decades. The pillars of my Christian life are FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. Three things will last forever and the Greatest of this is Love.

FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ, Faith that I can trust him at all times, faith that gives me the assurance of forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

HOPE that I am going to see my saviour face to face one day and to live an everlasting life which is my true abode. (this world is not my home, I am just passing through)

BUT the greatest of these is LOVE

Can you fathom the mysteries of God?

This evening, as the search for Malaysian Airlines MH370 heads into its fifth day, Malaysian authorities held a press conference in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the latest investigation details. Sadly, there wasn’t really much to report. My heart and prayer goes out to those hundreds of families in grief.

Flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing went missing on Saturday, after taking off with 239 people on board. The international search for any wreckage has been widened. Clearly this is still a mystery, which is very disturbing. At least 40 ships and 34 aircraft are taking part in the search with 10 countries involved and 10 Chinese satellites committed to this cause.

Majority of the passengers on board the plane were Chinese. Some were from a range of other Asian countries, North America or Europe.

For me, the most shocking aspect of the MH370 disaster is that we won’t know the fate of those 239 souls until we find MH370′s Flight Data Recorder (FDR) – the black box. Except for that last radar reading, we have absolutely no knowledge of the flight at all until we find that FDR.

Think about this for a moment. We live in a day and age where GPS (and other radio triangulation methods) can track your smartphone to within a few meters, almost anywhere on Earth. With dedicated, land-based tracking networks, vehicles and devices can be tracked to within a few centimeters. Even in the absence of GPS or radio tracking, inertial guidance has been accurate enough since the ’60s to accurately land a nuclear ICBM on the other side of the planet, or put the Apollo mission into space or say the Mars mission. US could pin hole Bin laden in a dungeon in Pakistan and land precisely land into his drawing room.

We have no clue what was said in the cockpit by the captain and first officer — We have no clue if the plane hit a patch of bad weather, or whether it was hijacked. It really will be one huge mystery.

In an age of Communication and connectivity is it not surprising? We have been boasting about our technological advancement and equating our human minds (science technology) with Supreme living God.

This is the irony, when man begins to boast of his ability to capture and control the world with a touch on the screen, God can make us feel that all these advancement that we credit of are a vain thing before him. As Proverbs says, Man’s Pride brings him low. 1 Cor 3:19 says “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”;

A time for us to introspect and humble ourselves before the Almighty. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength” (1 Cor 1:25)

Whatever we achieve or any greatness we acclaim of, our hearts should be humble before HIM and remember that we are mere clay in the hand of the potter.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man that you take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him ? You have made him a little lower that God, and you crown him with glory and majesty!

A Reason to Cheer

There have been great battles where nations have met in strife, and one has overcome the other; but who has read of a victory that overcame the world? Some will say that Alexander was its conqueror; but in reality, he was himself the vanquished man, even when all things were in his possession. He fought for the world, and won it; and then mark how it mastered its master, conquered its conqueror, and lashed the monarch who had been its scourge. See the royal youth weeping, and stretching out his hands with idiotic cries, for another world which he might ravage. He seemed, in outward show, to have overcome Old Earth; but, in reality, within his inmost soul, the earth had conquered him, had overwhelmed him, had wrapped him in the dream of ambition, girdled him with the chains of covetousness, so that when he had all, he was still dissatisfied; and, like a poor slave, was dragged on at the chariot wheels of the world, crying, moaning, lamenting, because he could not win another. Who is the man that ever overcame the world? Let him stand forward: he is a Triton among the minnows; he shall outshine Caesar; he shall outmatch even our Wellington, if he can say he has overcome the world. It is so rare a thing, a victory so prodigious, a conquest so tremendous, that he who can claim to have won it may walk among his fellows, like Saul, with head and shoulders far above them. He shall command our respect; his very presence shall awe us into reverence; his speech shall persuade us to obedience; and, yielding honor to whom honor is due, we’ll say when we listen to his voice, “Tis even as if an angel shook his wings.”

When in pain, you generally tend to gravitate towards people who have been there. You have this feeling that if you connect with people who went through the suffering themselves and recovered, you feel rejuvenated. Remember how you could pour your heart about love woes to the friend who’s been through a heart break? When someone gets sick, the immediate intuition would be to call or seek the advice of someone who has already recovered from the same ailment. The same may apply in other instances of failure, loneliness, betrayal, deception, rejection or be it anything. Someone who has gone through all this is the best source of truth, insight and reality into the situation.

This same thing applies for everyone of us. We live in a world where Weaknesses, loneliness, deception, rejection, betrayal have a normal norm of the society we live in. Social & workplace issues and family & relationships issues develop into an emotional and mental breakdown. Rejection by the people we love most is the scariest of all.

Most of these, when affects our lives we have no choice to opt. There are no reasons to go on. Life seems to be purposeless, meaningless and aimless. There does not seem to be any brighter side to what has happened. Discouragement and brokenness, disheartened and bitterness is all what remains.

Most of the times when these things happen we must understand that there is a brighter side of this. You might ask me is there anyone who has seem a brighter side.

In the Bible, Jesus says” “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Is’nt it so wonderful? Who else has ever, said something powerful & dynamic like this. “That I have overcome the world”. This Jesus went through all of the same life situations what we have or might go through. Even though he was God, he took the form of man. Left the splendors of heaven and came down to the wretched world to demonstrate & show mankind that what he had created has the power to overcome through Him.

Peace and happiness are possible in a troubled world, but the key to achieving them is locked up in the fact that Jesus overcame the world and in and through Him, we can also. Life must be built on eternal truth. Not on pop Psychology, neo-philosophy, success-motivation or inspirations. Life should be based on the reality and truth.*

Even though Jesus came into this world to seek the lost he was despised and rejected; though he came to show love and compassion, he was betrayed and humiliated. Though he healed every sick and brought the dead back to life, he was physically tortured. He was hung on the cross to die.

But death could not hold him, the grave could not hide him. He rose up from the dead. And is still alive. He is still working the same things that he did when he was on earth. What are you doing to him, how are you responding to his love for you. No matter what, he still loves and cares for you !

And that is why before he ascended back to heaven, he made sure to let you know , “Be cheerful, In this world you will have trouble, but I have overcome this world, and you too can overcome in my name and through my power.”

For God So Loved You

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son the whosoever believeth in his shall not perish but shall have an everlasting eternal life. John 3:16

Such great was God’s love for you that he chose to allow Jesus to come into this world and die for us on the cross.

The NEED for God to do such an act

Man was separated from God due to sin. And the Bible says that the wages of sin is Death. Man was destined to die because of their sin. But God wanted to reconcile with man. He did not want man whom he had created in His own image to perish and die eternally. God is Holy, and he cannot accept unholy and sinful man to become his child.

Therefore he sent Jesus into the world, so that Jesus could die on the cross. Jesus was sinless. He became the sacrifice for your sin. So that you may not die eternally. Such great was his love for you. Jesus has deemed you from the power of sin and death. He has given you a new life both in this world and in the life to come. The blood that fell out on his body was the sacrifice for your sin.

Many of us get life and other insurances covered to protect our uncertain future. But have you thought about the coverage for what’s going to be after death ? If life is uncertain, death is certain.

Your decision to accept Jesus will determine your destiny. If you accept Jesus and his forgiveness of sin, and invite him as your personal savior, you will become the Son or daughter of God, A son or daughter who has reconciled with their father. You become a part of the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of God has been open for you now. There is no other means of salvation of man accept through Christ Jesus.

The moment you accept Jesus, you become a part of God’s kingdom. You receive Peace that surpasses all understanding, Joy and happiness and a purpose in life.

Today if you listen to his voice, do not harden your heart. Give you life to Jesus. Because tomorrow does not belong to you. If you have not received the salvation through Jesus it high time for you to do it.

If you want to Accept Jesus, just say this prayer from the depth of your heart

Father God, I thank you for sending Jesus into this world to die for my sins. Now, I want to receive the forgiveness of sins through the Blood that Jesus showered on the Cross. Father God, accept me into your kingdom through the Name of you Son Jesus Christ. And cover me by your blood and through the power of the Holy Spirit and through your word. In Jesus name I ask. Amen

If you have sincerely prayed this prayer, then you have become a child of God from now. Now for you is the kingdom of God and his righteousness. May God continually speak to you and enable you to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus.

Please do feel free to contact if you have made this prayer or for more information.

Victory in a Spirit filled life

Quiet often we hear the words, read and hear sermons that say “Christian Life is Victory”. I have heard these words ever since I was a small boy. As I grew up and grew up to be a minister of the gospel, the only message that the Holy Spirit always wanted me to speak was about the Victory through Jesus Christ for every believer. I have been speaking on this particular subject for many years. But it was recently that the Holy Spirit led me into a deeper revelation into this aspect of Christian faith.

In this message I am not touching the basic concepts of what victory is, etc as that would become another large content message.

The Basic Concept of Victory

Let me here put the first basic statement that you need to always keep in mind ‘You cannot be victorious until you know that the enemy no longer exists’.

Jesus has defeated the devil and now we have the victory through him. Jesus defeated the devil on the cross. That is a very simple fact, that the devil has been defeated. So the devil or the enemy we know now is a defeated one. Since Jesus has defeated the enemy for you, your enemy no longer exists. This concept of the enemies non existence has to become a part of our thinking process. So we no longer should know about the enemy.. but we know only a defeated enemy.

How do we experience Victory ?

Being a Christian we cannot go from defeat to victory. We cannot go from no where to somewhere. Neither can we go from doubt to faith.
Romans 1:17 says “Righteousness is revealed from faith to faith” From faith to faith, so it has to begin in faith and move on to faith till the end. Similar is the case with Victory. You go from victory to victory. Not from defeat to victory. To attain victory we have to start from victory. We cannot be victorious till we see the devil as victorious. Now to begin in victory we have to be connected to the source of Victory. Our permanent, everlasting eternal source of victory is through Jesus Christ. If we are connected to this source then we are already standing in Victory.

When we hear the stories of the devil and a sense of fear settles in us, that’s the beginning of our fall.

In John 16:33, Jesus says, “ I have conquered the world”
I Cor 15:57, says “ Thanks be to God who has given us the victory.”

If we can read both these verses together, it would sound- ‘I have conquered and given it to you’. That means, the victory that Jesus took on the cross is now our, he has given it to us. His victories are now ours. In Christ we are identified with his victories.

Our Position today

2 Cor 2:14, “He leads us through triumph full procession”.

So right now you are part of a victory procession. The place you are moving right now is a route of the procession of victory. Oh what a joy it is. You may think, Oh is all these troubles, sufferings, isolation, lacking I am going through be a part of Victory. Of course it is. Daniels procession passed through the Lions den, through persecution, till it reached the Ministerial office.

Joseph’s procession passed through the pity, the slave traders, through bondage, on to prison and Potheper’s house until it reached the Prime Ministers office of Egypt.

You are right now passing for a visible form of Victory through what you are going right now.

Where is your enemy, the devil ?

Jesus defeated the devil on the cross. This word ‘defeated’ has various variants in different translations. In some places we can replaces defeated with ‘made powerless’, ‘made of no use’, ‘ineffective’, ‘value of Zero’

So that means the devil today is powerless, of no use, ineffective, and is value is equal to zero.

In Luke 10:17,18, Jesus has given us the authority to trample over snakes or scorpions. So let me ask you this question, where is the devil now or where did Jesus position him ? The answer is “Under your feet” Don’t let him climb your door steps, don’t let him run over your head, don’t let him be on your shoulder and speaking into your ears.dont let him be anywhere else other than under your feet. That’s all where he is meant to be. That’s his position.

Let the devil know that you know that he is useless, powerless and his value is zero. The devil needs to be reminded this every time, because he has lost his senses and has a memory issue. Letting him know about it helps him to keep away from messing with you. Let him not give you any suggestions regarding what you are going through. Start feeling, imagining and speaking VICTORIOUS. You are More than a CONQUERER. The value of your enemy is a big ‘0’. The only value he has in your life is the grade that you have given to him. He falsely tries to get value in your life. But remind him his value.

When he messes with you, or tells words of discomfort and discouragement and fear, tell him to mind his business, because you do not require his advice. “You are already Victorious.”

How to deal with the devil

Other than the above mentioned, James 4:7 says, “submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you” When you submit to God, and resist the devil, you would see him fleeing, not walking away. He wont dare be around you any longer. My friend, YOU ARE A VICTORY STORY.
