Whose Report Do You Believe?

Precepts of Message at Global Harvest, Sunday, 1 March ‘09

Key Reference Judges Ch 6: 11 following

Judges 6:11 beings with the angel of the LORD coming to the village Ophrah to converse with Gideon. At this time we find Gideon in the winepress, secretly hiding himself. The angel comes and says “The Lord is with you brave and mighty man.”

When I read this portion, I just stopped and wondered; there sounded an irony.
To whom did God say ‘a brave and mighty man’.
To Gideon.
And where was Gideon.
He was hiding.
Why did he hide? or Why would someone hide ?
Someone who is fearful or timid or afraid is a person who would hide. Gideon was hiding from the Midianites. The whole of Israel feared the Midianites, they were giving a hard time to the people of Israel, through their strength and power.

Now in this place, to a man who was hiding with fear and timidity, the Lord says “You Mighty Man”.

The testimony God has about you is different from what you think about yourself. You are not what you think you are; but you are what God says you are. It does not matter what you might be thinking. You might say – I am incapable, without strength, feeble, poor. But when you are in God’s hand you are more than a Conqueror.

To Gideon God says, you mighty man, but for you he says, “You are more than victorious, more than Mighty, you are an exceptional person, your testimony is of great victory not of defeat. And there is no word defeat in your dictionary.” That’s your real testimony. So stand up and give him the praise.

In the next verse God says to Gideon, “Go with all your strength and rescue Israel”

Gideon replies: “How can I, my tribe Manasseh is the weakest” and then he goes on “And I am the least in my father’s house”

That’s must be the same thing that you have been repeating to your self. I am the least, I am the weakest. Why don’t you choose someone from Dan or from Judah or from Ephraim. How can I, the one from Manasseh.
Don’t worry if you are the least in the family or if you are the one who has been trampled over or despised or rejected by people. But you are more than a conquer. God says now it’s your time. Enough of hiding behind the winepress. Enough of same old stories. Enough of the defeated testimonies. Now it’s your time. It’s your time to take over. It’s your time to let the devil know that he is defeated and has been handed over into your hands.
The battle no longer belongs to you. He is going to fight the battle for you. The enemy is your possession now. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, my people of valor and strength. The strength of the Almighty is in you. He is able to do mightily and exceedingly greater than you can ever imagine

You might be thinking, why you have to go to the battle, when God says, the battle no more belongs to you but to Him. The answer is because God wants you to see your enemies defeated before your own eyes. He want the enemy to see that God the Almighty has lifted you up and given you the victory and the devil can no more mess with you and your life. Remind the devil of the Victory God gave you on the cross. Let him know that you know, that you know, that he has been defeated and handed over to you so that you can trample him under your foot. Your mourning is going to become your rejoicing; your sadness is going to change into gladness. Your tears are turning into reasons to smile. People of God, Your Test is going to become your testimony for a lifetime.

So, now get set go. He has given you the victory. Don’t believe what the devil says. Don’t believe what others have to say. You are no longer your own possession. Believe in His report, You Mighty Man and Woman of God.

Experience Victory, God Bless you

    Hi,
I believe this valuable article has spoken to me on the various problems which I am currently facing. “God spoken to Gideon through his angel by saying “The Lord is with you brave and mighty man”. What a wonderful statement from the God! We are not defeated people as you have emphasised ” we are more victorious people, we are mighty people. Yes I believe we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us” God bless you.
In my life I never read completely an article. But this one is very encouraging one. May God bless you abundantly.
